Really. You should post. Here's why people don't post:
1. They're shy. It feels strange posting at first, everyone can see you. What if I say something stupid? You won't. You know what you're talking about because you live it. We're all in the same boat here and we're all helpful. Spit it out. I'll be glad you did.
2. They're afraid. If I give my ideas out then everyone will have them and I'll be back to square one. Bullocks. There is nothing new under the sun and you haven't discover the cure for the common cold. You DO have good insights and we want to hear them, but to think someone on this board is going to put you out of business because you shared a pretty common idea is nonsense.
3. They don't have ideas, that's why they're here. Then ask questions. Post links to what others are doing. Ask 'why' we would give away free food, or why a $1 off coupon is about as stupid as you can get, or why a BOGO addicts your customers, or why giving away $1,000 worth of food is better than $750 (or $2,000) worth of advertising (in most cases).
Just post. I'm not begging - I enjoy this stuff and it's fun for me to come up with something new every day. I'll share until the cows come home because I know I'll have another idea tomorrow. We have a couple of hundred members now - and only 5 of us post. That's not a discussion where you get better, that's a round-table that you'll forget.
Ask. Answer. Share.
