Interesting stuff going on in NRN and elsewhere about restaurants becoming more involved in their communities. (
Summarized here.)
Questions:
1. Why wait until the economy sucks to start this? Aren't customers / community members smarter than that?
2. What types of organizations / charities make sense for your brand?
3. How do you, or how can you, leverage the goodwill that comes along with doing good in your neighborhood?
It's sad to say that this is a good tactic now, when everyone is doing it, but it is. It's also a good strategy, no matter what the economy, to be the mayor of the village.
