I notice that if I put the word "ideas" in the subject line, the thread gets viewed hundreds of times

.
So, ideas for the biggest shopping day of the year - at least in past years it has been. I would expect it to be this year as well.
Here's my suggestion: offer one hell of a deal on that day, BUT offer it only to people who visit between now and then. Every person in your restaurant between now and then gets a bounce-back for a free something - free app, free sandwich, free smoothie, free dessert - on Friday only.
If they use it, they've been in twice within 7 days.
But the rationale is this: there is approximately 1 restaurant for every 300 people in the United States. That number will not remain by next year, it can't - people won't eat out enough to support them all.
So you have two goals:
1. Grab market share and grab it while people are more likely to spend (they already left the house, they're looser now than they'll be for a while)
2. Put the butts in seats once, incentivize them to come again. You can't have frequent customers until you have customers and, believe me, you don't have enough customers right now.
I have some more ideas and I'm happy to share. You go first - I'll add them in.
